Permission and effort: State manager expressly permits ordinary bicycles on the trail and names this public head. Planning: Sunrise–sunset; obey posted public-lot access. No current ordinary parking or trail tariff established; posted terms govern. State rules require staying on designated trail, respecting adjacent property and leashed pets. Yield to horses and walkers; helmets strongly recommended. Motor vehicles prohibited, with ordinary pedal bikes covered here.
Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): Retained owner alert published October 9, 2026 advises avoiding the Breathitt County Jane Beshear–Tip Top rough section. The manager also says Tip Top Tunnel is not open. This eastern short course avoids those areas and does not clear their reopening. Compacted limestone description comes from older independent route accounts, not a fresh tread inspection; postpone if soft or rutted.
Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
